Born in Wisconsin, Jill started a life-long committment to horses at the age of 3. As a Junior rider, Jill rode with Ronnie Mutch, Thomas J. Boyle, George Morris and Judy Samuels, to name just a few. She had great success as a junior in the show ring, including cometing in the Junior Hunters, the Maclay, AHSA Medals, and numerous classes in Working Hunters, Open Jumpers, Modified Jumpers, and Mini Prixs; winning championships nationwide.
In 1979, at the peak of her career, Jill was stuck by a tractor trailer and paralyzed for 1 1/2 years. During her paralysis, she dedicated her time to watching countless hours of video footage of people riding and examining how they and the horses truly work as athletes. She put that deep knowledge and insight into helping riders understand how the horse functions, and how to maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. Jill also attended the University of Tennessee and majored in Veterinary Medicine with a minor in Psychology.
Jill founded Windcrest Farms Hunters & Jumpers in 1989 in Alpharetta, GA. Jill's students have been successful in the Maclays, NAL, Marshall & Sterling, the USET, and the ASHA Medal. She has students that compete at all levels - from local to national competitions.
Jill was the 1995-1997 and 2001-2002 Vice President of the Georgia Hunter Jumper Association (GHJA), and served as President from 1997-2001. She also served on the banquet committee for two years and the show committee from 1993-1994.
She has been a member of US Hunter Jumper Association since the age of ten, and served as the Zone 4 Secretary/Treasurer for the past 4 years. Jill has a strong committment to serve the Association's membership through education and communication; making it not just a repository of show points, but a true resource for members. Jill will continue to serve Zone 4 through her participation on the Hunter Committee.
